Frequently asked questions
- 01We recommend introducing your puppy to grooming by the age of 16 weeks. Early grooming experiences are beneficial, as younger puppies are generally more adaptable and easier to train. Waiting until six months or older may make the process more challenging for your puppy.
- 02The frequency of bathing your dog depends on your preferences and your dog's specific needs. Unless your dog has skin conditions, there is no strict requirement for bathing. Some dogs naturally maintain a pleasant scent, while others may require monthly baths. We recommend bathing dogs with normal skin once a month using a high-quality dog shampoo. For more frequent baths, consider using a soap-free or moisturizing shampoo to protect your dog's skin.
- 03Depending on the length of the coat is a huge factor in how often the dog would need groomed. Poodles in kennel cuts could go 6 weeks. Full coats or long cuts should be done every 4-6 weeks. Shih Tzus and Lhasa Apsos should also be every 6 weeks if the owner keeps up with the brushing needed.
- 04Dogs' nails grow continuously and require regular trimming. We recommend trimming your dog's nails approximately once a month. If your dog is highly active and walks frequently on hard surfaces, nail trimming may be needed less often. For guidance, feel free to ask our professional groomers to demonstrate proper nail trimming techniques.
- 05We generally do not recommend shaving your dog during summer unless absolutely necessary. It is advisable to consult with your veterinarian or a professional pet stylist before opting for a "shave-down." Double-coated breeds, such as Shelties, Collies, Huskies, and German Shepherds, should not be shaved, as their coats provide natural insulation and protection.
- 06The duration of a grooming session depends on several factors, including your dog's coat condition, temperament, breed, size, and grooming history. For dogs with severe matting, the process may take up to three hours. Hand-stripping, which is more intricate than clipping, can also extend the time required. On average, grooming for well-trained dogs typically takes around two hours. Our priority is to ensure your dog feels comfortable and happy throughout the process.
